Alliance Laundry Systems from the US inaugurated its first laundry, Speed Queen, on August 19 at the Sai Gon Pearl Building in Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Thanh district.
“In a busy life, the opening of the first Speed Queen laundry in Vietnam marks the expansion of a high-end model of washing, drying, and folding with professional care, helping Vietnamese people experience comfortable laundry services at an affordable price,” said Mr. Felipe Coddou, Director, International Vended & Retail, Asia-Pacific and Latin American region.
After this first laundry, the company plans to establish five others in Ho Chi Minh City this year and 250 around the country over the next five years. Speed Queen also expects to employ more than 150 staff by the end of 2018 and expand into Hanoi and Da Nang.
“We are also looking for medium- and large-sized franchisees for our business,” said Mr. Coddou. “Franchisees have to invest in at least ten laundries in their city or area with investment of around $150,000-180,000 per outlet.”
Equipped with advanced washing technology that can handle all types of fabric, Speed Queen offers a high-end and time-saving laundry service that is convenient and delivers a better washing result than washing at home. The whole process of washing, drying, and folding takes around an hour.
Customers can do their own laundry or ask for staff assistance. The basic service of wash, dry, and fold is available for 9 kg, 14 kg and 18 kg of clothing. The professional ironing service is part of the high-end offerings Speed Queen will deliver in the future.
It’s also expected that a professional chemical-free wet cleaning service will be introduced next year.
