TOOLS NEEDED DURING THE VEST CLEANING PROCESS

During the vest cleaning process, using the right tools plays an important role in protecting and preserving your vest. This not only helps maintain a beautiful appearance but also prolongs the life of this precious garment. Because the tools below will protect the fabric and prolong the life of your clothes.

1. Wooden clothes brush

The brushes are used to ‘blow away’ dirt, hair and any loose particles. To remove them, start from the shoulders, gently and slowly. It only takes one to two minutes to complete. This helps preserve the product after each use.

2. Steamer (if available)

A steamer is a modern and convenient tool for preserving and cleaning vests. This tool uses steam to quickly and effectively remove creases from clothing. The steamer also helps eliminate unpleasant odors and restores a soft look to the vest. This is a good choice for people who have little time to beautify their vests and it is suitable for smoothing wrinkles and removing odors from clothes.

3. Steam iron/ironing machine

An iron or steam iron is an indispensable tool in maintaining the sharp appearance of your suit. This is especially important if you want to remove creases or smooth the surface of the fabric. A steam iron/ironing machine helps you improve the overall appearance of your suit quickly and easily.
They are used to remove wrinkles and odors without damaging fabric fibers. A hot iron can burn the fabric fibers and cause your suit to lose its natural shine. However, if you are traveling and have to iron clothes or you are in a hurry to get to work. It’s best to place a clean cotton cloth or an old cotton t-shirt between the set and the table. This is better than ironing directly on the fabric. Especially for cashmere vests, for example. Pick up the iron and change position, instead of sliding it up and down for a sharper finish.

4. Hanger

Coat hangers are an important part of the vest storage process. Choosing the right hanger helps maintain the vest’s shape and avoids unnecessary creases. Coat hangers also help keep vests from getting wrinkled, dusty, or folded when hung in the closet. Coat hangers with wooden or soft-lined hanging sides can be a good choice. Make sure that the shoulder and arch of the hanger are properly structured to support the shirt’s form and increase its longevity. Do not use regular hooks for structured garments. The garment can permanently lose its shape and endanger the elasticity of the fig. Additionally, hooks can become dull and leave stains on your clothes.

Note: Do not hang your jacket or vest on the back of the chair as this will change the shape of the jacket. If there is no other alternative. Fold it over the back of a chair or on a flat surface to minimize damage.

5. Fabric vest bag

A fabric vest bag is a good solution for protecting your vest from dust, direct sunlight, and moisture. When you don’t use the vest for a long time, especially in summer, putting it in a cloth bag helps preserve the new and bright look of the vest.
Vests can come with cotton, non-woven or nylon pockets. However, you should not store your vest in these types of bags for long periods of time because they damage the vest and are difficult to repair. But on the other hand, this can be considered a low-cost maintenance fabric that is easy to wash and dries quickly. This is a natural, breathable, acid-free and durable fabric that will increase the lifespan of your clothes when cleaned, stored and cared for properly.

6. Absorbs moisture and creates fragrance

Surely you should know about the benefits of cedar for preserving shoes and clothes. In summary, using cedar has three main benefits:

1. Cedar acts as a natural insect repellant

2. It can absorb any residual or new moisture after wearing

3. Cedar provides a pleasant scent on clothes

Did you know insects not only leave behind waste but also lay eggs in places where they feel safe and warm? As a result, these animals just quietly “gnaw” your clothes! If you frequently spot insects, do as described with clothing.
Remember, cedar will only have a repellent effect and cannot clean stains. It is best to wash your clothes after each use to avoid harmful bacteria and germs.
Dry clothes at the right temperature to kill the larvae. Then, vacuum regularly and get insect traps if needed. Cedar blocks may lose their smell after a while. Therefore, you can occasionally use a few drops of cedar essential oil to refresh them if necessary. Just be careful not to sprinkle any on your clothes as high concentrations of essential oils can damage the textile fibers.
